Wedding
Cake Showroom
We
have recently opened our wedding cake showroom at our Athy
shop. Not only do we have a large range of wedding cakes on
display, we have everything required for the wedding cake
enthusiast to make their very own creation.
A
full range of cake boards, roll out icings, cake boxes, floral
sprays, ribbons, pillars and satnds, an extensive range of
bride and groom cake tops and much, much more.
Occasion
Cakes
All
our occasion cakes are made fresh, daily in our Athy bakery,
ensuring you the freshest, quality cake possible. Hand made,
by local crafts people who are only too happy to customize the
perfect cake for your special occasion.
Restaurants
and Shops
Bradburys
have two restaurants located in both Newbridge and Athy.
Centrally located in both towns, we are open 7 days a week,
from 8.00am to 6.00pm (see above) including bank holidays,
offering full Irish breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, teas and
coffees and of course our famous cakes and pastries.
Our
now famous bakery shops sell a full range of freshly baked
breads, hand made confectionary and take away hot and cold
foods from our sandwich bars.
Coach
and tour groups are very welcome and can be accommodated by
our friendly staff. We would ask that prior notice be given
for large groups by phoning our restaurants or using our contact
page
Health
Breads
Bradburys
now have freshly baked health breads (low Gi & spelt)
available daily in both their Athy and Newbridge shops.
Low
Gi
Diet
and health concious consumers are increasingly aware of the
potential benefits of eating foods with a low glycamic index.
The Glycemic Index, of Gi, of a food, is a measurement of the
rate of conversion, after being eaten, of that food into
glucose in the blood. Benefits include help in dieting as low
Gi. Foods satisfy hunger for longer periods, avoid high levels
of blood insulin, improve mental concentration and slow enery
release - the reason why marathon runners eat pasta, a low Gi
food, before a race. Not only is this bread superbly
flavoured, but it is officially low Gi, having been certified
as such by Oxford Brookes University - one of the leading
academic institutes in this field.
Spelt
Bread
Spelt
is a low carbohydrate bread and is a wheat alternative. It is
suitable for most people with a wheat intolerance and is
becoming very popular with customers as the grain is less
processed and better for digestion and the body as a whole.
Spelt is also great for anybody on a low-carb diet. Bradburys
are now making two varieties of spelt bread, original spelt
and now, new multi-seed spelt with sunflower, hemp, pumpkin
and poppy seeds.
